Week 12 Russell Athletic Bowl Projections
With just one week left in the regular season, members of the media have narrowed their projections down to just a few teams in both partner conferences.
Here are your week five projections for the 26th Russell Athletic Bowl.
Jerry Palm (CBSSports.com): North Carolina vs. TCU
Jason Kirk (SBNation): North Carolina vs. TCU
Mark Schlabach (ESPN): North Carolina vs. TCU
Brett McMurphy (ESPN): North Carolina vs. TCU
Bill Bender (Sporting News): Florida State vs. TCU
College Sports Madness: Florida State vs. West Virginia
Bryan Fischer (Bleacher Report): North Carolina vs. TCU
Pete Fiutak (Campus Insiders): Florida State vs. TCU
All but two media members have the North Carolina Tar Heels making its second appearance in the Russell Athletic Bowl. The Tar Heels played in the 5th Russell Athletic Bowl that came in Miami Gardens in 1995 when they defeated Arkansas 20-10.
Like last week, the other ACC pick is Florida State. The ‘Noles would be making their fourth appearance in the Russell Athletic Bowl, the first since 2011.
Like the ACC, the media has projected two Big 12 teams. TCU would be making its first Russell Athletic Bowl appearance while West Virginia has three previous appearances, the most recent coming in 2010.
