Week 11 ACC & Big 12 Preview:Sooners And Bears Battle In The Big 12

In the eleventh week of the college football season, members of the Florida Citrus Sports Team Selection Committee are making visits throughout ACC and Big 12 country, meeting with fans across both conferences in advance of the Russell Athletic Bowl on December 29th.

Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech – Thursday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN
At halftime, the Yellow Jackets (3-6, 1-5 ACC) have planned a celebration of the 25th anniversary of their 1990 National Championship Citrus Bowl team, and hope to celebrate postgame with a victory over the Hokies (4-5, 2-3 ACC). This will be the 13th all-time meeting between the teams, the sixth on a Thursday night.

#12 Oklahoma at #6 Baylor – 8:00pm on ABC
The Bears (8-0, 5-0 Big 12) own the FBS’s best home win streak (20 games) and has not lost in Waco since Oct. 13, 2012. The Sooners (8-1, 5-1 Big 12) boast the Big 12’s best defense (18.1 ppg and 327.2 yards allowed/game) and have a 21-3 record all-time vs. Baylor, 10-2 in Waco.

Pittsburgh at Duke – 12:00 p.m. on ESPN News
The Panthers (6-3, 4-1 ACC) hit the road for the final time of the season, and need a victory against the Blue Devils (6-3, 3-2 ACC) to remain in contention for the ACC Coastal Division title. In their two ACC meetings, Pitt and Duke have combined to score a total of 212 points.

Miami at #23 North Carolina – 3:30 p.m. on ESPNU
The Tar Heels (8-1, 5-0 ACC) look to extend their eight-game winning streak and a perfect home season against the Hurricanes (6-3, 3-2 ACC). North Carolina has allowed just 158.8 passing yards/game but will face a Miami squad averaging 266.5 passing yards/game.

NC State at #16 Florida State – 12:30 p.m. on ESPN3

It’s been a decade since the Wolfpack (6-3, 2-3 ACC) has won in Tallahassee against the Seminoles (7-2, 5-2 ACC). NC State hopes to get out to a fast start, having outscored their opponents 93-37 in the first quarter and 184-102 in the first half so far this season.
