Big East Week Ten Preview
No. 10 Louisville (8-0, 3-0 Big East) will try to remain one of six unbeaten teams in the country when it welcomes Temple (3-5, 2-3 Big East) to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. A win would improve the Cardinals’ league record to 4-0 for the first time in school history. The Owls haven’t defeated a ranked team since 1998.
Connecticut (3-5, 0-3 Big East) travels to USF (2-6, 0-4 Big East). Both programs are trying to get in the win column for the first time in league play this season. The Bulls have lost six straight games, five by less than ten points. All five games in the head-to-head series have been decided by a touchdown or less.
Cincinnati (5-2, 1-1 Big East) returns home after dropping their last two games on the road, hosting Syracuse (4-4, 3-1 Big East). The Orange have won three straight, but must contend with a Bearcat offense that averages more than 220 yards per game both through the air and on the ground.
Pittsburgh (5-4, 2-3 Big East) heads to South Bend for a nonconference matchup with Notre Dame (8-0). Both of the Panthers’ last two wins at Notre Dame (2004, 2008) came by just a field goal apiece. The last time Pitt faced a team in the Top 4, it defeated No. 1 West Virginia, 13-9, in Morgantown (2007).
