ACC & Big 12 Week 12 Recap: Sooners Outlast Horned Frogs

#10 Baylor defeated #6 Oklahoma State, 45-35
The Bears (9-1, 6-1 Big 12) pulled off one of the biggest road wins in program history, defeating the Cowboys (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) for their first win in Stillwater in 76 years. Cliff Johnson, Baylor’s third string quarterback, came off the bench in the second half to throw for two touchdowns and run for another while their injury-plagued defense held Oklahoma State to just eight yards rushing.

#7 Oklahoma defeated #18 TCU, 30-29
Steven Parker batted away Bram Kohlhausen’s 2-point conversion attempt with less than a minute left as the Sooners (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) survived a late comeback attempt by the Horned Frogs (9-2, 6-2 Big 12). Samaje Perine ran for 188 yards and a touchdown and Baker Mayfield threw for 127 yards (9-20) and two touchdowns before leaving with a head injury after the first half.

#17 North Carolina defeated Virginia Tech, 30-27
The Tar Heels (10-1, 7-0 ACC) won their 10th in a row and clinched the ACC Coastal Division title, defeating the Hokies (5-6, 3-4 ACC) in overtime and spoiling Coach Frank Beamer’s final home game. Virginia Tech tied the game in the final minute of regulation, but settled for a field goal to begin overtime. North Carolina QB Marquise Williams hit Quinshad Davis with 5-yard pass to clinch the victory four plays later.

Pittsburgh defeated Louisville, 45-34
Nathan Peterman threw for 232 yards (22-34), including four touchdowns in the second quarter as the Panthers (8-3, 6-1 ACC) held off a late rally to beat the Cardinals (6-5, 5-3 ACC). Qadree Ollison rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown as Pitt reached the eight-win plateau in the regular season for the first time since 2009.
