Orlando’s SunRail Offers Extended Nighttime Hours On Game Day

How are you planning to get to the 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl? If this is the first time that thought has entered your mind, you may be in luck.

Beginning December 22, SunRail is adding nighttime service due to popular demand from those looking for a convenient way to take advantage of Downtown Orlando’s many entertainment options – including the Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium. On top of the normal SunRail weekly schedule, nighttime service will run on extended hours until late each night. The final southbound train will leave Church Street Station at 9:56 p.m. and the final northbound train will depart at 10:30 p.m.

With the Russell Athletic Bowl kicking off at 5:30 p.m., the extended service will prove especially useful for those returning home after the game. Additionally, Church Street Station is a short distance from the pick-up and drop-off locations for the City of Orlando’s free downtown shuttle on game day, so fans who do not want to park downtown can use SunRail and the shuttle to get to and from the stadium conveniently on December 29.

Check out the full SunRail schedule from Dec. 22 – Jan. 1 at SunRail.com.

The enhanced SunRail schedule was created to provide Central Floridians with easy access to the downtown corridor during a holiday season that is chock full of exciting events at the Amway Center, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and of course, the Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium. If enough people use the NightTrain service, it could become a permanent fixture in Orlando.
