CFP Poll Week 5: What it means for the Camping World Bowl
With just a few days left before Selection Sunday, the College Football Playoff released its penultimate Top 25 poll Tuesday night.

Over at FloridaCitrusSports.com, we broke down the Nov. 27 College Football Playoff poll and what it could mean for the Camping World Bowl and Citrus Bowl this postseason.
As it relates to our ACC-Big 12 matchup specifically, it’s impossible to project anything with certainty right now, but the rankings give us a decent idea who could be available in our pick window come the weekend.
The Camping World Bowl, on the other hand, gets the first pick from the ACC after the New Year’s Six bowls. Currently, No. 20 Syracuse is the only ranked ACC team outside of Clemson, however, North Carolina State has a chance to improve to 9-3 on the season when it hosts East Carolina in its regular-season finale.
A Pitt upset of Clemson in the ACC Championship Game could also create shuffling among the New Year’s Six bowls, as the Panthers, as a displaced conference champion in this scenario, would be due an at-large spot.
In the Big 12, the Camping World Bowl’s pick will depend on what the Alamo Bowl does with the first post-New Year’s Six pick from the conference.
Should the Alamo Bowl select No. 14 Texas, No. 16 West Virginia would be the next highest ranked team in the conference, followed by No. 23 Iowa State. However, a Texas win in the Big 12 Championship — presuming that Oklahoma doesn’t fall out of the Top 12 with a loss — would likely make the Mountaineers the top-ranked team outside the New Year’s Six.
