Camping World Bowl Extends Partnerships With Big 12 and ACC Through 2025-26

The Atlantic Coast Conference and Big 12 Conference have agreed to partnership extensions with the Camping World Bowl through the 2025-26 season, Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan announced Tuesday.

As part of the updated agreement, the Camping World Bowl will retain the top selection outside of the College Football Playoff series of bowls in the ACC (inclusive of Notre Dame), along with the No. 2 selection from the Big 12.

“The Camping World Bowl has established itself as one of the most compelling postseason matchups in the country over the past three decades — a tribute to the level of talent on display within our partner conferences,” Hogan said of the agreement, which takes effect beginning with the 2020-21 season. “The ACC and Big 12 have been extraordinary partners over the years, and we look forward to building on that success during the next bowl cycle.”

This year’s Camping World Bowl will be the 30th edition of the game, which made its debut in Miami in 1990. The game relocated to Orlando in 2001 after Florida Citrus Sports obtained the bowl’s certification, and the existing ACC-Big 12 matchup has been in place since 2014.

Since the game moved to Central Florida, 11 of the ACC’s 14 current members have played in the bowl, with North Carolina State and Clemson each boasting a conference-best three appearances in that span. Notre Dame also appeared in 2011.

“Florida Citrus Sports is a first-class organization and we are proud of our partnership,” ACC Commissioner John Swofford said. “The Camping World Bowl provides a national stage for our teams to compete annually and the hospitality they provide is second to none. We appreciate our continued relationship with this outstanding bowl.”

The Big 12, meanwhile, has sent four different teams to Orlando since it added the Camping World Bowl to its postseason lineup, with West Virginia paying two visits to Central Florida in that span.

“The conference’s bowl lineup provides premier destinations and exciting matchups for our institutions and supporters,” Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby said in the conference’s release announcing the agreement. “We are pleased to extend the relationship with our partners after the current term ends.”
