ACC & Big 12 Week 4 Recap:Duke Defeats Georgia Tech; TCU Survives Against Texas Tech

Duke knocked Georgia Tech out of the Top 25 and North Carolina State improved to 4-0 as the Atlantic Coast Conference went 5-5 in week four.
Duke 34, #20 Georgia Tech 20
Shaquille Powell rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns, powering the Blue Devils (3-1, 1-0 ACC) past the defending Coastal Division winners. Despite an early field goal, the Yellow Jackets (2-2, 0-1 ACC) were held to just 173 yards rushing and trailed for the rest of the game once Powell scored his first touchdown.
#8 LSU 34, Syracuse 24
The Tigers (4-0, 2-0 SEC) erupted for 27 points in the second half as Leonard Fournette scored two touchdowns and rushed for over 200 yards for the second consecutive game. The Orange (3-1, 1-0 ACC) were limited to just 281 yards total offense, but kept the game close as QB Zack Mahoney threw for 154 yards (16-38) and three touchdowns in his first career start. Brisly Estime racked up a career-high 261 all-purpose yards for Syracuse, including 158 yards on six kickoff returns.
Boise State 56, Virginia 14
The Broncos (3-1, 0-0 MWC) returned an interception for a touchdown on the Cavaliers (1-3, 0-0 ACC) first play from scrimmage and never looked back. Boise State limited Virginia to 273 yards of total offense, while racking up 447 yards of their own.

West Virginia joins the Top 25, giving the conference a 20 percent share of the poll. Four teams faced off in conference play as the Big 12 went 4-3 in week four.
#3 TCU 55, Texas Tech 52
Aaron Green caught a tipped pass with 23 seconds remaining to give the Horned Frogs (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) a hard-fought victory over the Red Raiders (3-1, 0-1 Big 12). On fourth-and-goal from the four, QB Trevone Boykin (34-54, 485 yards, four touchdowns) slightly overthrew Josh Doctson (18 catches, 267 yards, three touchdowns). Doctson got a hand on the ball, altering the trajectory enough to give Green a chance to make the catch as he fell out of the back of the end zone. The teams combined for 1,357 yards of total offense.
#24 Oklahoma State 30, Texas 27
Ben Grogan kicked a 40-yard field goal with six seconds left to cap the Cowboys (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) comeback in the bizarre final minutes of the game. The Longhorns (1-3, 0-1 Big 12) took a 27-24 lead with four minutes remaining on a 41-yard interception return by Holton Hill. Grogan tied the game with 93 seconds remaining with a 41-yard field goal. After the kickoff, Texas went three-and-out and set up for a punt. Punter Michael Dickson fumbled the snap, and managed just a ten-yard punt to the Longhorns 18, setting up Grogan’s game-winner.
West Virginia 45, Maryland 6
The Mountaineers (3-0, 0-0 Big 12) amassed 601 yards on offense, shelling the Terrapins (2-2, 0-0 Big Ten) for their widest margin of victory in the border rivalry series. Skyler Howard threw for 294 yards (21-33) and four touchdowns, while Wendell Smallwood rushed for 147 yards and one touchdown.
