On the defensive side of the ball, the Irish held Syracuse off the scoreboard for the first three quarters — the only consecutive quarters without points for the Orange this season.

Nine minutes into the contest, Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey went down with what appeared to be a lower back injury. Tommy DeVito stepped in for Dungey and finished the game at 14-of-31 for 105 yards and two interceptions.

NC State dominates Louisville

North Carolina State cruised past Louisville in a 52-10 victory on Saturday at Cardinal Stadium. Louisville scored a field goal on its opening drive, but NC State responded with 45 unanswered points.

Redshirt freshman Malik Cunningham got his second start of the season at quarterback for the Cardinals Cunningham led Louisville in rushing as he ran 14 times for 100 yards and a touchdown. The team registered a season-high 254 total rushing yards on 38 attempts.

Oklahoma State scores late to upset No. 9 West Virginia

Oklahoma State upset No. 9 West Virginia 45-41 on Saturday night, denying the Mountaineers in the red zone on fourth down to secure the win.

Cowboy quarterback Taylor Cornelius passed for 338 yards, ran for 106 more and threw a touchdown to wide receiver Tylan Wallace with 42 seconds remaining in the game. This win marked the first time in school history that Oklahoma State has beaten AP top-10 teams in back-to-back home games, as it also defeated No. 6 Texas 38-25 in Week 9.

The Mountaineers finished the game with 553 yards of total offense behind Heisman candidate quarterback Will Grier, who surpassed his school record with 364 passing yards — his 18th career 300-yard passing game.

Longhorns snap Cyclones win streak

The No. 13 Longhorns ended the No. 18 Cyclones’ five-game win streak Saturday night at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium as Iowa State fell to Texas 24-10.

The Cyclones were held to just 210 total yards of offense as freshman quarterback Brock Purdy completed 10 of 23 passes for 130 yards and an interception. Wide receiver Hakeem Butler had six receptions for 99 yards but it wasn’t enough to get past the Longhorns.
