Week 11 Russell Athletic Bowl Projections
With just a few weeks of the regular season remaining, media projections for the Russell Athletic Bowl have started to focus on a couple of teams from each partner conference.
Here are your week five projections for the 26th Russell Athletic Bowl.
Jerry Palm (CBSSports.com): North Carolina vs. TCU
Jason Kirk (SBNation): North Carolina vs. TCU
Mark Schlabach (ESPN): North Carolina vs. West Virginia
Brett McMurphy (ESPN): North Carolina vs. West Virginia
Bill Bender (Sporting News): Florida State vs. TCU
College Sports Madness: Florida State vs. TCU
Bryan Fischer (Bleacher Report): North Carolina vs. TCU
Pete Fiutak (Campus Insiders): Florida State vs. TCU
Five of the eight media members have the Tar Heels making its second appearance in the Russell Athletic Bowl after they turned in another dominant win this weekend. The Tar Heels played in the 5th Russell Athletic Bowl that came in Miami Gardens in 1995 when they defeated Arkansas 20-10.
The other ACC pick is Florida State who has three previous appearances in the Russell Athletic Bowl. The Seminoles’ most recent appearance came in 2011 when they defeated Notre Dame 18-14.
On the Big 12 side, West Virginia would be making its fourth Russell Athletic Bowl appearance, the first since 2010.
TCU would be making its Russell Athletic Bowl debut.
