Game MVP Scott Covington completed 17-of-24 passes for 320 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Miami topped NC State 46-23.
Covington hurled TD passes to Andre King and Santana Moss in the first half as the Hurricanes mounted a 27-10 halftime lead. Moss caught five passes for 141 yards, including his 80-yard scoring reception. Running back Edgerrin James also had a pair of TD runs in the first half and finished with 156 yards on the day.
Miami set a new team bowl record with 594 total yards, while the ‘Canes defense picked off five Wolfpack passes, setting a new bowl record.
