December 30, 1995

North Carolina’s Leon Johnson rushed for 195 yards as the
Tar Heels downed Arkansas 20-10.

The Razorbacks struck first as Anthony Lucas caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from
Barry Lunney, but North Carolina quickly answered with Darrin Ashford’s 18-yard TD catch from quarterback Mike Thomas to knot the score at seven. After a scoreless second quarter, Arkansas’ Todd Latourette kicked a 26-yard field goal to put the Razorbacks ahead, 10-7, but Johnson took an option pitch from Thomas for 28 yards to give the Tar Heels the go-ahead score.

North Carolina added six points on Thomas’ second touchdown pass, an 87-yard strike to L.C. Stevens.
